Timing
Both races will be timed using the ChampionChip Timing System. All participants will receive their "chip" along with their bib at packet pickup. The "chip" is designed to be worn on the participant's shoe and is disposable. Any participant who does not wear the chip on their shoe will not be timed. Chips are disposable.

Tech Shirts
Tech Shirts included in entry fee. Guaranteed to those who sign up by March 29th.

Aid Stations
The half marathon course will host water and electrolyte at aid stations every two miles; 7 stations in all. The 5K aid station will be halfway through the course, at the turnaround point.

Pace Groups
Fit Right Northwest's Get Fit Live Fit Training Program will be providing this year's pace leaders. With their help you are sure to reach your goal. Visit their booth at packet pick-up to sign up. Then meet your leader at the start line race morning. Paces for this year coming soon!

Awards

Awards will be given to Overall Male & Female and Overall Masters Male & Female of both the 5K and Half Marathon. The top three males and females in each age division will also receive awards. Awards must be picked up at the event, they will not be mailed.

5K Awards: 8:30 a.m.    10K Awards: 9:15 a.m.
Half Marathon Awards: 10 a.m.

Free Photos
All participants have the opportunity for a free picture! As part of our efforts toward a more sustainable event, we will be replacing finisher's medals this year with a free downloadable photo. Everyone who has their picture taken at the Finisher’s Photo Booth will receive a free downloadable picture from Evan Pilchik Photography; only photos taken at the Finisher’s Photo Booth will be eligible. The booth will be open to all race participants from 8am until 11am in the Convention Center.

Dry Clothing Check
Dry clothing check is available as a free service at the desginated area inside the Exhibit Hall. Feel free to drop off your warm, dry clothing for after the race.

Age Divisions
0-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over

Optional Divisions
Athenas (females over 150 lbs), Clydesdales (males over 198 lbs), Wheelchair and Crank.

Walkers
We welcome racers of all paces. Our course will stay open to accomodate a pace of 12-15 minutes per mile. (The city of Portland restricts ALL running/walking events to this timetable to be considerate of commuters, residents and retailers as well as event organizers.) If you are unable to keep this pace you will be asked to continue the race on the sidewalk for your safety.

Lodging
Host Hotel: Red Lion Hotel Portland - Convention Center, just blocks away from the start/finish line. Race for the Roses participants enjoy a room rate of $95/night. Reservations can be made by phone at 800.343.1822. Make sure to mention you are with "Race for the Roses" for this room rate and free parking. Prices good until Mrch 13.

Transportation & Parking
$3 parking provided by Ashforth Pacific at Liberty Centre parking lot located at NE Oregon Street between 6th and 7th. Parking also available at the Oregon Convention Center, max daily rate $8.

Be Green!
Runners and Walkers, be on the lookout this year for the Oregon Convention Center's Sustainability Stations that will be sorting paper, plastic, cans, glass and compost.
