Course Dos and Don’ts
Like many other races in the Portland area, we love to leverage the beauty of Portland's downtown and waterfront in our race course. In doing so, we are required to cross the MAX and train tracks multiple times. Our race organizers work closely with the local authorities and train schedulers to communicate our course and do everything in our power to prevent race disruption. In 2016, we will again work closely with officials to ensure every possible effort is made to avoid the trains. However, any race in downtown Portland that crosses the tracks does run the risk of disruptions. If any trains interrupt the race we will adjust race times accordingly and will have timing mats placed on either side of the tracks to account for stoppage time.
