Q: I can no longer participate in the race, can I get a refund?
A: Unfortunately, Race for the Roses does not offer refunds.
Q: Another website says a different date?
A: Thanks for catching that, please send the link to Felicita, FelicitaM@AlbertinaKerr.org.
Q: What roads and bridges will be closed? And when will they reopen?
A: Please check our "Course" Page for a complete course map. All roads for both races (1/2 Marathon, 10K and 5K) close 20 minutes prior to the start of the half marathon at 6:40am. The roads then re-open as the last participant goes by. The Broadway Bridge will close for the Race as well as the southbound lane of the Steel Bridge. Road closures may be enforced 1-2 blocks away from the actual course. The city of Portland evaluates safety for both racers and traffic to determine road closures. Thanks in advance for your patience on race morning if your travels are inconvenienced.
Q: Can I change my event?
A: Absolutely! Please call AA Sports at 503.644.6822, they will be happy to assist.
Q: Are strollers allowed on the course?
A: Due to safety, strollers are allowed on the 5K ONLY.
Q: May someone else pick up my packet for me on Saturday?
A: Yes, but please bring that person's confirmation card (the postcard you received in the mail) with you.
Q: May I walk the half marathon?
A: Absolutely! We welcome racers of all paces. Our course will stay open to accomodate a pace of 12-15 minutes per mile. (The City of Portland restricts ALL running/walking events to this timetable to be considerate of commuters, residents and retailers as well as event organizers.) If you are unable to keep this pace you will be asked to continue on the sidewalk for your safety.
Q: Is my race fee tax-deductible?
A: Tax-deductions are limited to charitable contributions in excess of goods and services received. The price of this race is comparable to other racing events in the area. Albertina Kerr Centers cannot offer tax advice, please consult your accountant with further questions.
